Many a learned people have published their thoughts on education and made valuable suggestions on how best it could be used as an instrument in nation building operation. Although in all these educational treatises, the need for introducing Value Oriented Education is accepted in principle, but unfortunately, this did not find a place of importance in the final document. The present book is an effort to emphasize the need to introduce Value Oriented pattern on education. In Part I of the book, suggestions have been made with regard to the content and methodology which could be adopted to help the students imbibe values through effective curricular and extra curricular programmes.
Part Il of the book contains inspiring educational tales. The source material for this Section was provided by Sri Aurobindo International Institute of Educational Research. The formal permission granted by the Institute is acknowledged with gratitude.
The present generation is drifting towards diverse directions. At no time was it more important than now to imbue them with the spirit of high and lofty idealism and values. This will help stem the tide of discontent, frustration and unrest. By implication the book ventures to contribute towards the building up of the nation through educational exercises.
